I was able to book a cruise using my UR points and paying the remainder on my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, so it appears you do NOT need to have enough points for the full redemption.
Good to know, thanks. I booked 3 cruises a few months ago when Chase was running the 6 UR points per $ promo. While booking I asked the rep who told me you had to redeem in full.
