Can I ring the call centre and pay the extra $200ish to change to flexi, and then use my points to upgrade some of the legs to business?

If so, would it be 50,000 KF miles for the upgrade? Looking at seat map shows around 15 Business class seats available, is there a way of knowing I'll get one of these?
