While I am not an AA pilot, I have spoken extensively with AA employees (some pilots) that are in my friend circle, and they have said that, in all cases, they rank below AA status pax for upgrades. In some cases, they can have priority on seats if they are reporting for work, but that would be whatever seat is available, not an upgrade to F while elites are in Y.
