I used to use 1.2c, but now at most 1.0c. That's because of the constant devaluation of the AE points, the scamcharges, and yes the difficulty in finding reward seats. (Sounds like what others have just said)

With some other award programs, you can call up to speak to people 24/7, but AE goes to "sleep" at midnight. After I make an award booking, it's available to view on AE website for a little while, then it can never be called up to view. So those are additional frustrations in dealing with AE.
