There are many ways to type the name and that is why I suggest entering Tegel and selecting the airport from the drop down list on the second step. But of course you can enter the full name of the only possible station if you know them. Sometimes - and Berlin is not really an exception if you know what to look and familiar with the area - the airport has a few stops close by which you can choose as well. You will most likely see this at the second step.

FlyingLawyer and I suggest a RegionalExpress / RegionalBahn rather than the S-Bahn. At least my experience in Berlin is, that they are more reliable and have fewer stops. Therefore I am not sure, what you want to express as you suggest taking the S-Bahn instead of taking the RegionalBahn / RegionalExpress towards the airport. I am not sure what I have missed.

I agree, in rush hour the bus and trains could be faster; however the S-Bahn might run delayed (which is the reason why we suggested RB / RE instead of S-Bahn
