Putting aside that you quote one of the best songs in the history of rock music, your advice is completely off base. The OP has over 9 hours between flights. He arrives at 3pm and his JFK-HKG flight is not until after midnight. How is that possible not enough time? Yes, he does have to find someplace to put his bags. But with 9 hours, he will have plenty of time to go to the BA lounge in Terminal 7 (that's the lounge CX uses), leave his bags, and head into the city.
