I'm just saddened that people report negative experiences about what is supposedly close to the best, in the air and on the ground. I never hear that sort of comment about the nice places we go to eat. If we did, we probably wouldn't go there any more. So basically, you are advertising me not to fly F ... which causes me no grief anyway.
Point taken. If you don't fly long haul all that often then CW is a more than acceptable way of doing it... especially on the UD of a 747.

I would also agree that F is not worth several K more than CW... a couple praps, on a return trip, or £500 per sector at the airport as a last minute offer... certainly definitely worth it when UuA.

When flying long haul as I do several times a month - month in, month out - on top of short haul week in, week out I begin to see things as does LTN Phobia above. For me she perfectly sums up the added value of F travel.
