To the OP: This doesn't sound like a colossal matter to me but given that this was a day flight it's certainly interesting given that the CC will awaken the entire cabin in the middle of the night when one passenger requests coffee. Clanging in the galley and the rich aroma of robusto, I thought it was morning already. But that's the policy, the pax can eat (and drink) whenever they want!

Unfortunately, on a 777 it doesn't work. After a few flights that were unpleasant through absolutely no fault of BA's, I have very much taken to flying F. Not for services, not for food, not for seats, but just so that I am guaranteed fewer fellow passengers. Sure, the nicer service and seats are good, of course, but that is not the primary purpose for which I have UuAed. Maybe BA conspired with fellow passengers to drive me to UuAing to F...
You're very right. I'd pay F fares to be UD CW with a smaller number of people... my worst F segment was full to the brim. Can't blame the airline, though I actually research capacity sometimes to try for less-crowded flights.
