No, I doubt that any of the frequent flyers here have ever been on a 762 transcon between LAX and JFK.
The seats are not state of the art flat biz seats, but eastbound you're looking at less than five hours between wheels up and "flight attendants please prepare for landing," so there isn't enough time to get a good night's sleep anyway. The recline is decent, ok footrest and 1,000% better than a 757 or 738 or MD-80 F seat.
The 762 F seats are better with more recline. The closest thing to flat biz class on AA on a transcon are the 763 flight between SFO and JFK and the 777 between LAX and MIA. Neither of those are overnight redeye flights.
