I’m booked on separate tickets LHR-DXB (BA) and DXB-HKG (CX) later this year. The scheduled connection time when I booked was over the minimum connecting time of 90 mins. The times for both flights have now changed and the connection is five minutes short of the MCT.
I’ve no qualms about making the connection if the BA flight arrives on time – or even a bit late. T1/T1 connections are pretty easy in Dubai and the gate where the BA flight usually arrives is really convenient for the transfer point. But I’m a bit worried about what happens if there is a more significant delay.
Would CX at least put me on the next flight to HKG? (The ticket is changeable but with a fee). Should I contact CX and ask them to put a note in the booking so they know where I’m coming from? Maybe they would send someone to the arrival gate to meet me if a delay made the connection particularly tight? I won’t have checked luggage so they won’t otherwise know that I’m in transit.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom
