Hoping to get some encouraging words: My wife left for China yesterday to visit family and friends. Originally she was UA ORD/IAD/PEK then on to SHE (bought from Ctrip and not on the UA itin); flight was cancelled after check in and she was routed UA ORD/PEK. They told her in the RCC that the luggage was located and re-tagged, apparently bogus info.

Not a bad thing to get the direct flight, but her luggage went to IAD. She filed a report in PEK and I spent about an hour this morning on the phone with a domestic UA agent who was extremely patient and helpful and who sent three messages out to the affected airports to route the bags to SHE on Air China or whatever. (Kudos to Gina.)

My question is, based on experience here, how soon will the bags arrive? Men here with wives and so on know how important the clothes, makeup, etc. are so she's pretty upset. She will be there two weeks. Can I give her hope for a quick resolution and that the bags will find their way timely to SHE?
