I recently changed the return on an award ticket where the outbound is OMA-SLC-LAX-ICN-AKL, and DL's wonderful systems tried to reprice the outbound by breaking the fare in ICN. I was doing this around midnight CDT, so the best agents likely weren't on, but they did agree to let me keep the outbound as originally priced.
