WT = Sainsburys Ready Meal
WTP = Brewers Fayre/Beefeater/Harvester
Club World = Good gastropub standard
First = Decent local restaurant, nowhere near anything renowned or Michelin
Is any meal served reheated at 38 000 ft going to re-create the restaurant atmosphere at quality? I think its better to compare them to what they are really trying to emulate, the best cook/chill meals you can get from your supermarket.
WT: Tesco/Sainsbury/Asda standard ranges.
WT+: Tesco Finest/Asda Choosen by you ranges
Club World: Waitrose*
FIRST: Marks and Spencers*
* I'm sure there will be debate as to whether Waitrose is better than M&S, but I find on the whole M&S meals taste more "real" than Waitrose ones. They also have greater variety and range.
I also think its fair to say that WT isn't as bad as a ready meal from Iceland. The last few I had were very tasty and fell into the "comfort food" category. My main complaint would have been having a greater portion size and a more substantial desert. Not a fan of all cream type desserts.
