I have a corporate travel agent booking for an upcoming flight LHR/JFK that was made just yesterday. The TA is located in a different country than my BAEC country of residence, so I got the 'It is not possible to upgrade...' popup from MMB.

I phoned my BAEC line (France) and asked for a price to upgrade the sectors for cash or via Avios. They told me that there was no availability in the next class of service on either the o/b or i/b sectors. However, from Expertflyer, the cabins on both sectors are wide open.

Is this an upgrade availability issue, even in the case of my request to use cash rather than Avios?

Should I just keep trying daily to see what happens over the next week or so?

Anyone else experience this so far?
