United not responding to refund request
Hoping someone (or better yet, a United rep) can lend some assistance for a refund request from June 2012 to which I have not received a response.
I booked a ticket via United in May and later had to cancel as my fiance received a job assignment abroad during our planned time of travel. I went to United's site and submitted a refund request - following the refund protocol. Within a couple days, I received the below cryptic email from United (also containing a refund request ID). Since there was no "optional area to contact", I responded to the email three times and received no response.
I, again, went to United's site and re-issued the refund request, providing my initial refund request ID and detailing my confusion in the "comments" area. I received the same vague response. I tried to call the number and explained my situation to the rep. (I spoke to three people.) She could not help me - instead, she directed me to the Refund Request line which was a recording. I called back and was told since I'm not an elite member, that I could not talk to a live person.
Apologies for the rant here, but after 2.5 months of trying, I'm not getting any response back from United (despite trying multiple channels) and I simply want a full (or partial; understand they usually take $150) off the $500+ ticket. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.
