According to some posts in the BA forum, I can't transfer avios points from BA to IB unless the IB account is active, meaning either I've earned points on IB or otherwise transferred them to IB. For example, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18527888-post85.html and others in that thread.

What's the quickest, least expensive way to get some IB points or otherwise activate the account so I can transfer avios from BA? I don't appear to have any credit cards or hotel programs that transfer to IB.
