I paid attention, but the link in post 1 is not the only one I have seen on the web for 40K for this card which is why I asked. I am a 'lil interested in that I was just approved using that link this weekend.

The 30K offer he was told that he got mirrors the offer the FA was promoting on a recent US Air flight I was on from DCA to MCO - minus some extra bonus miles for applying with the FA during the flight. That offer (on the flight) also did not waive the first year AF.
I like you think OP will make out OK, in the end.
