Sure, if they don't charge elites I can say I won't be affected, but most of my friends and family are not elites. Besides, one day I may not be so lucky to be able to maintain my status.

They do need to enforce the carry on limits. One in the overhead, one under the seat in front. I see people carrying on two huge rollaboards. And I will admit to once or twice taking aboard three carry ons, but if they enforce the rule, then I certainly won't.

Although, charging for carry ons while allowing two free checked bags might be interesting...to speed up the boarding process. Perhaps allow one of each, free of charge?
A dream would be that they have "example" bins at the gate and they replace the sizer - make the test bins 14" wide. If you can slide your bag into it, it's carry-on.

Now before anyone flames me over the reality of doing this, realize I said "dream".
