Since auto-moderation probably doesn't exist I find it difficult to suggest to the moderator to move this thread to another forum. It has nothing specifically to do with AF. If FRA was closed for incoming traffic from Europe then all European airlines were affected - so shouldn't it be in the Europe forum?

Unless we replicate this same news in the KLM, SAS, British Airways, Alitalia, Aeroflot, Iberia, etc. forums, they were all affected.

Or unless we follow the logic that all news that affect a couple of flights of the airline discussed in a forum are noteworthy. So forum members should post about fog, bad weather, staffing shortage at security, an accident on the tarmac, a closed runway due to construction work, baggage handlers on strike, the snowploughs being snowed in, etc - all leading to delays of the same order of magnitude as you describe. And it would need to be the same in all affected airlines' forum. But then why don't I see a news here about the (short) closure of AMS a couple of days ago? Or the huge chaos at JFK a couple of weeks ago involving several AF planes (and that of other airlines) which were stranded for one and a half hours because of the airport's closure because of Pres. Obama landing there?

Maybe we just post a link to NOTAMs so that people can download the same information that pilots see ("Hmm, taxiway E4 at Rome is closed to planes with a wingspan above 28 meters between taxiways E and J ,I better re-book on an earlier flight so I won't miss my connection"), and we also post the link to liveatc where people can listen to ATC conversations and be better informed. Finally, allmetsat gives real METARs that may affect traffic as well.

If the only point of the post was to raise awareness for LH joining the group of striking airlines ("see, not only AF goes on strike") then I am not sure whether that news really has been missed by anyone. To pest about it, there is a wonderful thread over in the LH forum where everyone can log his anger about this selfish bunch of FAs.

Don't get me wrong, I find the news that was posted very important. Just an odd title in this forum?
