Of course you are right... but I do rather resent paying an extortionate fare and not even earning anything for it, despite it being part of the alliance to whom I show the most allegiance.


On another note, although signing up to LANPASS is one option, it's not very attractive to any who hold status on other oneworld carriers. In my experience, LAN is very strict about any of their benefits (priority boarding, priority check-in, sometimes preferred seat selection, lounge access if available...) being tied to whether the FQTV on your booking triggers "Preferente" to be printed on the boarding card or not. Showing them a piece of shiny plastic from another oneworld carrier does very little to interest them, if it is not the same number on your boarding card.
