I do think it's odd how I can be flying from OGG to LAX, connecting in HNL and charged for baggage on the short island hop, when the connecting flight is First and no charge. Totally weird. As I say, no mention of charges with the first few itineraries, but now it is printed on.
Because you are not connecting in HNL. You are stopping over in HNL. The greater than 24-hour stay makes all the difference.
