OK, migraine has started and my mind is boggling!

The flight numbers appear to be Island Air/Hawaiian. I checked the baggage charges on Island Air website, and they are different to those quoted on the latest itinerary sent from United, so I guess they are charges United is applying, but that's just a guess.

The itinerary states they are codeshare flights, operated by Hawaiian and Island.

I emailed United about this, but judging by how long it took to get a response last time, my holiday will be over by then.

I think I'll stick to BA and its codeshares from now on, there are none of these hidden extras and hassles.

I do think it's odd how I can be flying from OGG to LAX, connecting in HNL and charged for baggage on the short island hop, when the connecting flight is First and no charge. Totally weird. As I say, no mention of charges with the first few itineraries, but now it is printed on.
