Not all Airline employees are flying standby, in or out of uniform. The only time it should be an issue is when someone is actively proclaiming their Non-Rev Status and making an ... out of themselves (ie bragging about bagging a FC seat on a domestic flight) - otherwise, it's a case of you have no idea unless you're running the gate.
