A friend of mine is just staying at the Le Grand and he`s got a problem.He arrived on Friday around 10am,had booked a club room with a BOGO and the 3rd night on points.As he`s a RA,he politely asked for a room until the Junior Suite he had been upgraded to would be ready.They said no,because they had no room (maybe hotel is full).So he waited in the lounge,was glad to hear that they would let him stay in his upgraded room for the whole stay and even probably lounge access for the last night.
When he came to his room,he took a smoothie out of the minibar and emptied it at once,although wondering about some "curious taste".Not long after that he felt really sick (nauseous) and had to vomit.As he remembered the taste of the Smoothie,he took a closer look onto the bottle and read that it should have been consumed 3 months ago.
I too think this story sounds funny. I'm a regular guest here and indeed am here at the hotel this weekend. There are no smoothies in the mini-bar. I have two mini-bars in my suite and none feature a smoothie. I vaguely recall they had smoothies a few years ago here, but not recently.
The hotel is quite full, but I managed a very nice upgrade to a huge suite which is next to a royal suite where indeed a royal princess is in residence, complete with 24 hour guard stationed outside the door.
