Thanks guys. No problem fitting in wheels first on the DEF size. It would have been tighter on the AB side as they are not as deep (per previous post) and the opening did not appear as tall as the other side (perhaps it just looked that way) but I didn't have to try that side. Most people were locals and had smaller roll-ons or other carryon that easily fit.

The agent at checkin did ask if my roll-on was more than 25 lbs. Of course my answer was no. I recall it being reported in some threads that often they will require you to check bag if you respond yes to the weight question. Agent did say that if the bag wouldn't fit that the flight attendant could gate check it.

Maybe two years ago my bag was fatter? Or the gate agent was being proactive on the weight issue?

As usual it is great to have the FT community to turn to!
