I get most of my Avios from flying, but I do top these up with BAPP and Tesco.
I feel the mega non-flying Avios earners are eating away at the redemption availability (certainly the several routes I monitor are somewhat worse in the last 18 months and in to next Summer), though BMI DC absorption clouds the issue a bit. In that sense I believe BAEC needs to do something to level the playing field a bit (but taking account of
Wozza2404's point).
Personally, I am unlikely to look to retain (upcoming) Gold, or even Silver under the present set-up as MFU availability is getting pretty much dead for me 9 months out. So BA will lose some revenue from me as a direct result of such reward availability issues ... however, BA will get (I guess less) total revenue from me in other ways (F 2f1 seats, economy rather than WT+, back to using ex-EU for CW, possible switching to other FFP)
