I cant remember ever hearing that FL did a no strings attached lifetime elite. I do however know there were several targeted status match programs that had a time period of anywhere between 2-5 years until you had to re-qualify either via another status match or the traditional way. Also I dont know if it was all cards but I know that not all of them in the early days had an expiration date (Which did not mean your status never expired).

I can do some more research on this and get back to you sometime next week, this is a question that only about 3-4 people could answer at FL and they would probably not be the regular A+ agents or anyone you could contact directly from the outside.
