I didn't say "expected", I said "hoping for". Based on
1. I was offered a free stand-by upgrade to exec room by the NOR1 program
2. It is still a benefit listed for Golds, if there are exec rooms free why not offer them (see 1)
3. I have been upgraded here before
Even if they would not offer exec rooms for Golds, it was a poor assumption from the hotels side that I would consider a switch from a TWIN to a much smaller SINGLE (with a view) an "UPGRADE".
