Just take note, the procedure for booking a one-way flight from Manila using AA miles is too complicated. It maybe best to use AA miles going to Philippines then United miles coming back. It has something to do with Philippine travel taxes that the government wants to charge to every ticket going out of the Philippines. If you do a one-way test booking on aa.com, you will see that going to MNL is ok but coming from MNL, you have to call AA, no way around it.
But just to note that calling AA to book is not a bad option either. It will only cost $25 extra for phone booking fee but I'v often found that they can find more availability (or tell you none exist when web search say it does) than if you try to do so yourself. Their search engines are more up to date than anything on the web. Also they are much better at searching for different routing to get from A to B as sometimes openings exist on very indirect routing than the more direct ones. Often worth the extra $
