Changing Terminals on Delta at JFK is easy. In the secure area between Gate 19 (Terminal 2) and Gate 18 (Terminal 3) there is an enclosed walkway.
When I think about it, the one time I connected at JFK it was between T2 and T3 and I never even realized it. I actually think I may have had the longest possible walk between gates in these two terminals, and it took less than 10 minutes.
