I am new to Cathay's MPC (recently reached Gold status), and am still learning the rules and tricks with Cathay Pacific and MPC.

I have a question regarding the seat guarantee benefit for Gold members. My understanding is that this benefit guarantees me the ability book a ticket at the fare bucket (Y, B, H, K, M, L and V; with V being the lowest fare) as long as these fares are available for the specific routing I am looking at even if the flight (/fare) is oversold.

However, what I would like to ask is that am I only able to use this benefit when purchasing ticket for myself? Or can I invoke this benefit too when purchasing ticket for others (ie for a family member but myself as the Gold member will not be traveling with him).
