As a long-time AAdvantage, ThankYou Forward, ThankYou Premier, and Dividend card holder, the only referrals I've ever seen have been on the TY Forward card. In addition, they're not always available, but rather targeted via email with a valid window of application (for me, I've got the offer twice on my forward card, each with a 6-week window for my referee to apply).
Not saying this is all unilateraly true, but that's my experience.
