As someone who has flown 10+ legs on Avios in either J or F to North America within the last two years, taking in JFK, MCO, LAX, IAH, PHX to name just a few, I can assure you there are plenty of seats to be had if you work the system.

If its such a scam, more fool you for not checking things out before collecting all those Avios you must be sitting on. You might as well exchange them all for wine on Avios.com

To Dolfinco, the search system does have its knickers in a twist. No two ways about it. If in doubt and you really can't find what you want, you can always call BA and ask them to look for you to see what is available. I hope you have some luck.
