777, you are actually the one to blame...
After reading your posts in this thread and while seeing the rates drop to the 150's from the previous range in the mid to high 200's, we thought we give the property another try. I was also pretty sure that they remodeled the place some years ago, when they changed the name, but either it was a very soft reservation or I confused the place with Palm Springs...
The Regency Huntington Beach was sold out for most of the time and it can get busy there as well. Manchester Grand should be avoided at all cost due to the owner supporting political campaigns against very basic human rights, so it is basically Mission Bay, if you want to be close to the sea.
I am not the one who starts to complain afterwards, however I had to defend the RC attendant one morning due to guests starting to bicker at her. The morning before guests complained and her colleague, who called in sick the day after, argued with some guests ( they had a point about food not being replaced, the attendant had a point about guests taking away all the food in a heartbeat

)
When I met her at the kitchen door to ask for the email contact of her superior, you could already see that even with two skilled attendants running the club during buffet hours is not an easy task..., clearly a management mistake, not one from the attendants running the club.
I was really shocked to see how crowded the pool area actually is, three pools sound nice, however they are right next to each other and of course the package holiday folks used their towels to block all deck furniture around the pools. Coronado was deserted in comparison to the pool deck at Mission Bay.
We asked for vouchers for breakfast at Red Marlin, but were told that we do not qualify because of RC access. FD recommended to use the RC for breakfast a few minutes after it opened for breakfast. At first, I though he was kidding, so started to laugh, unfortunately he was serious about it...
Enjoyed breakfast in some small places along the beach in Mission Bay and Coronado during the next days. @:-)
The spa is very very small and simply not nearly as nice as the website wants us to believe...
BTW, did they always charge for parking?
No resort fee, but $ 20 per day seemed steep considering the area....
