I'm sort of wondering if anyone can give advice about attending Wembley Stadium for big events. Does choice of hotel matter, or is public transportation generally easy to and from the stadium from throughout London?

I was thinking of trying to stay in the Baker Street/Marylebone area. It looks pretty convenient on lots of fronts -- it looks as though both the Jubilee and Metropolitan line go directly to Wembley Park, and there also appears to be an overland train from Marylebone to the Wembley station. Plus, this area is pretty convenient to Paddington and the Heathrow Express.

That said, I'm not sure this is my top choice for area to stay, other than Wembley access. If big-event Wembley access is essentially the same from all over the city, I'd probably be more inclined to stay around Trafalgar/Leicester Square/Piccadilly/Charing Cross.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
