This would be in addition to JFK service. Delta has lost it's Detroit-Haneda slots and it is up for grabs. Competing with the application will be Delta/Seattle, Hawaiian/Kona and United/San Francisco.
From the looks of the timing, this would make a great business route for Tokyo (now of course, it would be nice if JAL allowed other OW top tier members to use the Arrivals Lounge ). You could easily fly in for even a 1 day meeting, and still make it out for dinner before the flight back!
