I had something similar happen to me when I cancelled an award ticket which was booked pre 3/3. The miles were not posted back to the account, even after all the promised resweeps (remember those?). So sometime in late April, I called. I was bounced back and forth between the 1K desk and MP, with each pointing the finger at the other. Finally I hung up and called 1K customer relations. The agent said they don't handle that kind of problem. I told her that as a 1K she is my representative and with 1K 1 Call it was her responsibility to figure out who to talk to at UA/MP and get this problem resolved. Somewhere way down in the record, there was a notation that the return of miles was rejected. The thought it was probably because the current MP# didn't match the MP# the miles were taken from. The miles were deposited back into my account the same day.
