If you are referring to Aeroplan, yes, you're SOL unfortunately.

Code-share flights operated by any Air China code-share partner other than Star Alliance airlines are not eligible.

Mileage accrual varies between *A airlines. For example, UAMP members are already able to accrue non-status miles on BR, but not with Aeroplan. Probably not until BR becomes full *A member in Q2/Q3 next year.
