I was flying BSL-LHR-HEL and the first sector was cancelled. I was rebooked on a flight two hours later but this ment that I would miss my connecting flight. BA did rebook the second sector as well.

So basically I am trying to figure out if the EU compensation rules apply? BA was able to bring me to the LHR within 2 hours of the original arrival time and the second rebooked sector was on time. However my arrival to HEL got delayed by more than 12 hours because the flight cancellation caused me to miss a connecting flight.

I was trying to find an answer using search, but there seems to be conflicting information on this issue.
