My take
1) Nice detailed trip report and wow ! Personally, I would not "consciously" get to enjoy my flight with such a short layover. Get yourself enough rest for the next flight dude

2) The officer must be having a bad day after receiving your call. Communication works both ways. You can be "assertive" but not to the extent of "over aggressive" . You wouldn't want to receive such a call when you step into the working world. My 2 cents.
