I know... I use it as a last resort. But when the work is really that important I (or better my boss) will gladly pay for it. And he does already since it's a corporate phone, even though I'm not that important :-). And to put it in perspective, we have a worldwide mobile data plan for 100MB increments for a fee of €50 ($60) a month.
But what I'm really trying to say is that if working when traveling is really that important be prepared and have alternatives. Here the easiest option would have been just to move and spare us all the DYKWIA drama.
