If you miss the return half there's a chance BA could come after you for the extra money. This may be in the form of sending you a bill, charging your credit card, cancelling your BAEC account, etc.

It's unlikely to happen for a one-off though, but if you did it a lot I'd expect revenue protection to investigate.
