Thanks for the suggestion! My (one) voyage into frequent flyer tactics in the past was with a Citi AA card - it worked well, I received the bonus and kept the card for a while, but then it didn't end particularly well as I battled them to waive the annual fee as I was a loyal customer.

Yes, as of today, there's availability on both airlines fortunately.
Would you recommend waiting on the United one to see if a better bonus comes out or try it out? Our credit scores are where they are because of our short credit history unfortunately, but now we're making good money (~$100K household income) so hopefully we can get approved.
