Well it is an 8% saving out of pocket, so you have to ask if the points bonus are work it over the 8% savings. If it is not your pocket, that is a whole different question.
8% saving out of pocket is a decent deal. What I would do is combine the hyatt stay expenses with the cc. I dont know if the cc card gives points for the tax portion of the bill. I know that GP does not credit points for taxes and other "non qualifying" expenses (sometimes third party things like parking w a vendor). I would use the gift card to pay for such expenses and use the cc for the expenses that do accrue GP points. Just a suggestion for puregravy.
