This is a question more for the regular TPTL FTers. So I'm reading eUpgrade info on AC.com and it says it has to be the entire segment if flight is under one #, even though there's a stopover (e.g. YVR). In the past with the cert system I've been able to secure an upgrade for just part of the trip at the gate, e.g. (HKG-YVR only) even when the flight has the same flight #, then play aerolotto again on the 2nd segment YVR-YYZ. How would it work with the eUpgrade? Would I ask the GA at the gate to see if I cannot do the entire way (e.g. SYD-YYZ via YVR), then see if the GA can grant me just SYD-YVR and then see what the availability is at YVR for the YVR-YYZ segment? This is for AC34, for example.
