+1. It was the argument used by many when General Motors was bailed out by the US Government. The opposite argument was the cascading effect on suppliers and other small business working for the auto industry. How many jobs would have been lost, it was stated.
But if AA or DL or UA were to not just go into bankruptcy protection, but actually go out of business, the aviation industry tends to abhor a vacuum. if a city is worth serving by air, someone will fly into it.
