Thanks guys.....good to see it isn't just me it happens to. I did respond to EK's 'check the aircraft in advance' response, but just met a brick wall of 'thank you for your email' or similar 'couldn't really care less' wording - frustrating when you save up for ages to fly J and then have a less than expected and frankly advertised product. Like Eightblack - we made sure we maximised high end consumables (mostly Verve Clicquot) on the flight as much as possible both as 'compensation' and to assist in getting some shut eye in the 'decling' seats. For the future then, it looks as if in theory we should be OK with a newer product on PER-DXB although there's a possibility of being unlucky on just about any flight anyway.
