You can also place your hhonors number on the reservation in the comments section (or on the res) after it's booked, so the hotel will know your status. But, if you change to your name, neither will get credit.
So, you cannot book in your name and place your number, but she get credit even if she is with you. (reward stays do still get credit, so if she wants the stay credit you have to leave it in her name since it's going to be the two of you travelling together--- in which case, less likely to get your benefits).
This is wrong. Your wife can book the room using her points and put it in your name. Your gold HH number will be on the reservation and you are entitled to benefits under Honors terms. Have your wife call and make the reservation and just let the agent on the phone know your HH#. You will be entitled to all the gold benefits even on a rewards stay. It doesn't matter where the points comes from, you are staying , you are gold, you get the gold benefits.
