I've looked at all the options I can think of.

Aeroplan/Air Canada wants the same 60k points as Amex/Swiss, but they charge $650 fees/taxes instead of $400.

I could transfer to Delta for 80k miles and just $120 fees/taxes, but then I also have to pay Amex another $50 or 10k points for the transfer for a total equivalent points cost of 106k points.

Mostly I guess I'm just bummed that Amex has changed their plan. One of the main reasons I went with them originally is because they had the 30k points companion cert for Swiss (with a 50k primary cert) for a net cost of 40k points per person when traveling as a couple, which is what we do. Not only have they raised the points by 20% (which is not entirely unexpected with inflation) but did away with the companion cert altogether and tacked on what seem to me to be unrealistic "fees". That, along with the fact that they no longer have Continental/United in the points transfer program really bugs me.

It's looking like PWP is the most economical way to go at this point, but only because I get the 20% points rebate.
