Me (Gold) and travel companion (GM) were on same PNR. Both offered UG for same price -- $400 -- at OLCI. Declined. PNR split due to upgrade list. Now I'm getting an offer for $609 and travel companion is $799.

I don't travel with companions often so I don't know if this is normal. Are upgrades usually cheaper for elites, same price, or cheaper for GMs? (From the threads on FT you'd think it was usually cheaper for GMs, but it may just be that these cases are so surprising that's what ppl post about)
